Put on your headset and run the tests from top to bottom. Each one takes under a minute. Everything runs inside this browser tab: no call is made and nothing is sent anywhere. At the end, copy the report and send it to us.
Listen for every word of:
Your devices
The browser needs microphone access to show your headset by name. The microphone is closed again straight away.
Start with the softphone’s choice. If a test is cut, repeat it with “Windows communications device” to compare.

Play directly
Plays a short sentence straight to your headset, the way a video or music would play. No call is involved.
The phone-line version sounds thinner on purpose: every phone call sounds like that. Listen for missing words, not for sound quality.
Play through a call
The most important test. The same sentence now travels the way a caller’s voice does in the softphone: it is packed like call audio, sent through the browser’s calling engine and played on your headset exactly as the softphone plays it. It all happens inside this computer; no internet is used.

What the two answers mean
- Direct clear, call clear: this computer and headset play call audio fine. The problem is outside this test (in the softphone or the phone line).
- Direct clear, call cut: the browser’s call audio path on this computer is losing words.
- Both cut: the headset, its USB dongle or the computer’s sound settings are losing words.
Your voice through a call
Speak into your headset: you hear yourself about one second later, the way a caller would hear you. This test always uses the microphone.

Ringtone
Plays the softphone’s ringtone where an incoming call would ring.
Headset buttons
For Yealink headsets: answer and hang up with the headset button, and the headset light shows calls. Close the softphone tab before connecting here.
Make the headset react like the softphone does:
Then press the call button on the headset: during “Incoming call” it answers, during “Call in progress” it hangs up.
Caller announcement
The softphone can say the caller’s name while it rings. Spoken announcements always play on the computer’s default output, so the softphone only uses them when that is the same device as your headset.
Report
Copy the report and paste it into an email or chat to us, or download it as a file. It lists your devices by name, your answers and the measurements. Nothing leaves your computer until you send it.
